On Thursday, June 21, at 10:00 a.m., Annie Antón, USACM Executive Committee Member and Associate Professor of Software Engineering at North Carolina State University, will testify to Congress on behalf of USACM regarding the pervasive use of the Social Security number and recommendations for increasing the protection of our personal information.

Seeking input on the technical issues associated with reducing the use and exposure of Social Security numbers, the Committee on Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee asked USACM to provide expert testimony. Dr. Antón, a member of the Executive Committee of USACM and an expert on privacy and trustworthy systems, will provide her and USACM’s perspectives on this issue. The hearing will be webcast. You can watch it here: We will make her testimony available here after the hearing.
