Chief Technology Officer Vivek Kundra unveiled the IT Dashboard yesterday. The focus of this website is providing detail on all information technology investments by the various federal agencies. It’s a graphics-intensive effort, with charts and graphs at your disposal to help examine individual projects, individual agencies, and comparisons across projects and agencies.
What’s covered by the website, according to the FAQ:
The emphasis on this site is on spending related to the use of IT, rather than spending on the research underlying IT. While there will always be some overlap between the two categories, this site’s emphasis on the former is consistent with the Obama Administration’s interest in using IT to help facilitate agency services and functions. As is the case with recovery.gov, data.gov, regulations.gov, and other new websites rolled out under this administration, expect things to change as circumstances warrant.
